Code of Conduct

US UK English

UK English
Gentlemen,

The following code of conduct is the law for all CPS members at all times. It also extends in all situations in and out of gameplay. It applies to all forms of communication in any public or private contexts – absolutely nothing is excluded. If a member disregards our code of honour and word, he will be subject to exposure, censoring and – if all reasoning fails to reach an agreement – their membership may be permanently revoked. We’re here to have fun and to learn and advance our skills and fight as a team. Anything else is quite simply not cricket and will they will not welcome to the clubhouse for tea and cake.

Vulching (that is to circle an enemy base for a target) is not recommended in most circumstances, but the definition of vulching may vary according to the host. It is advisable to ask the host as to what the rules are. As a guideline, it is not that polite to shoot at stationary aircraft that are taking-off or landing. That is not cricket, too. In the spirit of gentlemanly spirit, please allow a reasonable time, s***d and altitude before engaging. CPS allows its team members to steal kills where deemed necessary. We have comms and it is deemed polite to ask your partner if it is acceptable to steal his kill. He may say yes. He may so no. Your teammates are there to help you, and a bandit that is airborne, even if damaged or attempting to escape, is a bloody danger. So shoot him down.

We are not big fans of intentionally shooting, ramming or harassing fellow CPS aircraft – it simply isn’t on, bad show and all. Also we do not like being verbally assaulted or insulted, regardless of circumstances and differences (that said, CPS is the most liberal squad you’ll find). Do not convey an attitude of superiority towards anyone in CPS or take part in an act that may result in a member(s) or the squad suffering a bad reputation – otherwise we will be forced to shoot you down, strafe your parachute, and as we have just made it clear, that’s totally unacceptable and bad form on our part.  If a situation gets out of hand, simply report your issue to the members of the squad to discuss where administers will take action where necessary. Also, please go out of your way to help new players be part of the team and make hem feel at home. If players are learning the ropes or have a low-skill setting, help them if they ask for it. And remember, they might save your skin one day as they will remember your kind gesture.

If a member believes that a policy change is essential, it is their responsibility to bring it to the attention of all members in a polite and constructive manner. And likewise, they must play an active part in its solution. Do not attempt to imply that change is crucial to meet you own personal requirements if you are not willing to play an active role in constructive talks.

Lastly and most importantly, please look to your fellow CPS members in absolute high regard; they have earned their wings and respect. Also, do the same towards your members to CPS – it is a privilege and not a right. As a member, we expect this from you. Anything that affects the good morale of CPS will not be tolerated. Remember, we’re all part of a one big happy family and we all enjoy socialising and flying as a team. At CPS, we believe that we have a quality that is unique to IL-2 without the regime and strict codes of other squads. We have forged many friendships and work well as a team, our solid reputation around the flying sim community makes this known. And now you can be part of the team. Heed the rules and reap the rewards and be part of the world’s finest virtual squadron.
